A new mural by Banksy appeared in London’s Finsbury Park on Sunday. On a white wall behind a real cherry tree with pieces, cut branches and missing leaves, is a picture of her holding a pressure hose sprayed with green paint to represent the missing leaf. He confirmed this latest work of the elusive artist on his Instagram account on Monday.

The mural has been interpreted as a scathing commentary on environmental degradation. Jeremy Corbyn, former Labor leader who has represented Islington North in Parliament since 1983, said. Associated Press that the new work “makes people stop and think: ‘Hold on. We live in a world. We live in an environment. It is vulnerable and at the point of serious damage.’ Banksy’s latest work was confirmed to have been discovered in south London in December 2023 – a stop sign with three military drones. Not long after, a man was photographed removing the work with bolt cutters.

In recent years, demand for Banksy’s work has grown, with both his auction record and the print market steadily growing. in 2018, Girl with balloon (2006) fetched £1 million ($1.4 million) at Sotheby’s before being partially destroyed by a hidden frame crusher. Then, in 2021, a partially crushed work, retitled Love is in the bucket (2018), was resold at Sotheby’s for nearly 20 times its previous asking price of £18.6 million ($25.4 million), setting the artist’s current auction record.
