Jane Gottlieb has built a life saturated with color, passion, and creativity. A Los Angeles-based artist, Gottlieb began her artistic journey as a painter before delving into photography and eventually blending both practices through hand-painting Cibachrome prints. Over the last thirty years, she has continued to evolve, now embracing digital tools like Photoshop to enhance her vibrant works and produce archival prints on aluminum, canvas, and paper. Gottlieb’s art is a celebration of joy and energy, channeling her fascination with bold, brilliant hues into pieces that radiate emotion. For her, color is more than just a visual component—it’s a fundamental source of inspiration, happiness, and connection. Her creations aim to bring smiles to faces and lightness to spaces, reflecting her own positive outlook on life and creativity.

Here is the artist’s interview.
- What is your creative process like?
Taking photos & later enhancing them with photoshop to create my own idyllic colorful world.
Both are my process! - Do any personal experiences shape your work?
I am 78 years old & have been an artist my whole life. I got my first museum show when I was 35 & have been a full time working artist ever since. My wonderful life shapes my artwork. - What challenges do you face as an artist?
Biggest challenge is selling the art. Since the internet began it’s quite easy to get international exposure, with shows, competitions, social media, etc. but sales are the hardest part for me. - What do you want people to feel when they see your art?
I want people to love my art, be intrigued by it so that they look at it longer than 30 seconds, & feel joyful.
I love creating my art & love people enjoying it on their own, in their home or a gallery or public space.
Jane Gottlieb’s dedication to her craft and her commitment to sharing joy through her art are unmistakable.
